Eh, I don't like it, but that's because I don't want glow in the dark trees.

I won't deny it's incredibly practical though. I can see municipalities lining roads with these trees both inside and outside the urban areas. The savings in electricity and maintenance would be rather substantial, although you also lose a bit of the 'shadowed by trees' feel.
