So, http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/1448.html]which one's the best? I don't have time to watch them all.

(Yes, I know the best version is the licenced one. But that won't be available for years...if at all.)

According to at least one of the folks on Usenet, the gg sub is a "trollsub" http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/5311 ... 044956.jpg](some subtitles from it)

I only heard about it yesterday... The first episode of the new season of Harush Suzumiya was aired in Japan earlier this week, and various fansubs of it are already out.

I do wonder where this slots into continuity.

(spoiler protection using white font)

"Kyon, do you know who grants Tanabata wishes? I DO!"

Okay, no, she didn't say that, but it was the first thing I thought
of.

Koizumi, have you looked at the world recently? Then again....

Gentlemen, we have less than 16 years to evacuate Earth's population into
Fenspace. 16 years from now, the Earth's axis of rotation will alter radically, one way or the other, and we DON'T WANT TO BE HERE when it
does.

Ph34r 7h3 cu73 0n3s, Ky0n! (gratuitous Megatokyo t-shirt reference)

Asahina: "My Delorean is in the shop."

So, time travelling with Asahina involves falling asleep and waking up with your
head on her lap? Sign me up for the frequent-flyer program.

And the she falls asleep on your shoulder, and THEN the adult-model Asahina
shows up? WHERE! DO! I! SIGN?!?!?!?!?

Chibi-Haruhi... is EXACTLY like high-school Haruhi. And Kyon was involved in
the infamous "crop circle" incident....

"Siders? Haven't met one of those yet." ROTFL!

It's interesting that Haruhi says "Are you retarded" where most
people would say "do I look that stupid?"

"I'd like to meet that person." Oh, dear. But some things now
make more sense, like why Haruhi acted as she did the first day of High School.

Flustered/Frantic Asahina is just SO! CUTE! ARGH!!!!

Megane-Yuki-chan! YAAAAAY!!! Even is she's cuter without them, it's
still a blast from the past-- er....

I'm pretty sure that Yuki-chan isn't matchmaking here, even if she did
take her glasses off.

HAH! I thought that might be Yuki-chan's answer to the time-travel problem. Nice touch in having her
show up "ten seconds later" looking exactly the same.

Poor Kyon. He's actually been handling all the time-paradoxy stuff pretty
well, but I think he's nearing his limit.

But where did Haruhi learn that script? Mysteries still remain from Season 1....

Hah! I think Kyon doesn't want to face idea that he's part of
Haruhi's "special memory."

Yuki! SPEAK ENGLISH! Or, er, Japanese....

"You'll understand soon enough." Why do I think that gives Kyon a
BAD feeling?

Koizumi: "Admit it, you're starting to like the weird."

Sez you.

(Ah, yes - I picked the Live-eviL sub, mainly because they did an AVI as well as a MKV. My portable DVD player can play DivX AVIs...)

Well, Koizumi DID say that Haruhi has too much common sense for her wild fantasies to be realized. What there is is just some subconscious seepage.

If you want, you can read the translation of the original short story here: Third Novel chapter 2
for some more detail.

From what I have heard the began running season 1 of Haruhi in chronological order on the network. Then at some point they just stuck in a brand new episode
instead of the chronological order rerun. They didn't bother to inform most people of this.
