A question the Venus terraforming program must solve.

How to accelerate the planet's rotation so it has a proper day-night cycle, and how to reduce the crushing concentrations of carbon-dioxide and toxic gasses.

And here I'm wondering, why not kill two birds with one stone? Teratons of gas will make for excellent remass - you just need engines big enough to accelerate it to escape velocity.

Proper angling of the thrust from these world engines could be used to accelerate the rotation of the planet.

These things will be utterly Babylonian in scale - requiring terajoules of energy for decades at a time.

It might even be possible to move Venus to co-orbit with Earth. Okay, so that arrangement will result in a collision if a few million years but by then humanity will be long-gone, and in the short term the benefits in venusian habitability will be worth it. And sure, if we can move it, we can stabilise it.

In Gunnerkrigg Court's current storyline, three four characters are visiting the Norns ... not the OMG! Norns, but still.  Today they discover that each person sees the Norns as three ages of herself (I'm not willing to speculate what a male would see).  The reaction-shot is a delight.

Since Windows 10 Pro doesn't (appear to) come with any sample media, I'm putting together a selection of files for testing newly-installed software with. If the files are Puiblic Domain, then I can leave them on the computer with the software... which would make a difference if I'm building a computer for somebody else.

There are plenty of Public Domain videos at the Internet Archive, and it's possible to search for them and not get any CC licensed files in the results.

There's plenty of Public Domain audio at the Virtual Gramophone - they're all PD, so no worries on what comes up in a search.

Images... Sure, there are PD images at Wikimedia Commons, but there's no way to search for only PD images. So, here's a challenge: Find me some PD images on Commons, and share the page URLs (not the images themselves) in this thread. EDIT: Oh, and no NSFW images, please.
