A visual tour of the Legendary Base: UPDATE - New Room!
Posted by: Logan Darklighter - 09-10-2006, 03:14 PM - Forum: The Legendary - Replies (57)

For writers who may want a handy visual reference of the base without entering the game, members of coalition groups who might wander by to take a peek, and just because I like to show off (^_^), I present a slideshow tour of the Legendary base!
Main Entry and Reception. Here is where Legendary and Coalition members will first enter. Portal courtesy of Portal Corp.

Just off the Reception area on either side are Teleport Bays 1 and 2. Both are identical. Bay 1 Teleporters go to the lower security level zones such as Atlas Park, Galaxy City, and Kings Row. Bay 2 Teleporters go to Mid level Zones such as Steel Canyon, Independence Port, and Talos Island.

This is the main Control Center. This Super Computer is where Lora'Lai coordinates major Supergroup operations and plans major additions to the base itself. Teleport Pads are programmed here and records of entry and exit can be monitered. Environmental, Power, and Security functions are handled here as well.

This is Workshop #1. Where we have storage for salvaged items and worktables for examination and tinkering. Enhancement and Inspiration Bins are here as well.
Alternate Angle of Workshop 1

This is the view of the Lounge and Library from the hallway.

And the Lounge itself. We have quite a lot of eclectic volumes here. It's a nice quiet place to hang out with a couple of friends, or by yourself. There's a pretty stereo in here too. One wonders how the heck you get reception for the local Paragon radio stations from a pocket universe? Oh well, at least there's a good selection of CDs to listen to.

An overhead view of Workshop #2 with the Empowerment stations and Worktable.
[Image: Legendary_Base_Tour_Workshop_2_Over.jpg]

Here is the Infirmiry.

Opposite the infirmiry, we look down this back corridor towards the Generator room.

And here is the Generator itself. Some tools, odds and ends are stored here as well.

Going back along the back corridor and turning left at the infirmiry, you see the entrance to the Main Meeting Hall.
[Image: Legendary_Base_Tour_MeetingHall_Ent.jpg]

As you reach the end of the short hallway, you realize just how big the place is.

Look to the left as you enter, and you'll see Teleport Bay 3 with destinations to Higher Security Level Zones like Croatoa, Founders Falls, Brickstown and Peregrine Island.
[Image: Legendary_Base_Tour_MeetingHall_Tel.jpg]

And here's an overhead view of the Meeting Hall and Teleport Bay 3.

And lastly - an overview of the entire base floorplan. Screenshot taken from the base editor. This is the most recent version as of 9-10-06.

East Coast Infamous - Down and Running
Posted by: Acyl - 09-09-2006, 08:09 PM - Forum: The Legendary - Replies (7)

There's some new evil in town...
The East Coast Infamous is up. Or down, depending on your moral inclination. It's definitely running, though. Always good to make a clean getaway.
Like the Virtue villain-group, all members have invite powers. Right now, you can bug me, @Foxboy or @Naoko if you need in.
EDIT: And, of course, this is on Infinity. Same server as the ECL.
(For completeness, 'Random Weapon' is the guy pictured. My mutant Grav/Energy Dom. A fairly uncomplicated guy. Discovered his powers in high school, and dropped it. Mind, he didn't drop out of high school. Rather, he lifted the whole building, and...well. Yeah. He's been a villain since. It's fun.)

  Mirror Kingdom Plans
Posted by: Evil Midnight Lurker - 09-09-2006, 08:33 AM - Forum: The Legendary - Replies (6)

At this point, the King is technically qualified to take on the Virgil Tarkoss Strike Force, which strikes me as the kind of thing that the Mirror Kingdom would do.
I propose that everyone with an MK toon should level up to a certain point -- 18 or 20 -- then stop and wait for the others to catch up, so we could take on Bat'Zul as a team whenever it proves convenient for the lot of us. (The King is 16 right now.)
Sound doable?

  Powers Question

Does anyone know whether Mastermind minions can be affected by -- and, if so, are smart enough to take advantage of -- Group Fly?
I'm not sure I'd take it if not. But it would be cool for the King to have a squadron of Zombies of the Stratosphere. [Image: smile.gif]

  Yet another anime-like story idea
Posted by: Foxboy - 09-08-2006, 05:57 PM - Forum: Other People's Fanfiction - Replies (16)

For now, I call this idea "Jailbait."
Typical magical-girlfriend romantic comedies tend to have an appropriate age gap between the nebbish and his girlfriend.
Let's twist it thus: Nebbish makes a wish for a "perfect girlfriend" at age 15 or so. As usual for the genre, he gets it granted, but, in this case, 15 years later. Whether whatever agency granting his wish could not find a suitable girl living at that time and had to raise one from scratch, or they were busy fulfilling a difficult wish like "I wish I was Prezz'dent like mah daddy:" it makes little difference to the comedy that will ensue, because she is the equivalent of 15-16 years old when she meets our nebbish.
Instead of merely being painfully shy, our "hero" also has to deal with the fact that if he takes what is offered, he will go immediately to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200. What makes it worse, is that she *IS* a perfect significant other for the nebbish. She argues just enough that their relationship isn't boring. She's attractive but not totally outclassing the guy. Of course, she wants to advance the relationship in a manner that the nebbish would have had no trouble accepting when he was 15-16 himself.
She picked her name while he was ranting about how he was going to jail for getting caught with "lolicon." So our MG is named "Lori Kahn."
Meh. Just an idea that hit me while driving.
Edit: GAH! Bob could you move this to Other People's Fanfiction?
Edit: Done. And I removed the "Please move this" from the subject. -- Bob

I have had an Evil Thought
Posted by: Valles - 09-08-2006, 05:52 AM - Forum: The Legendary - No Replies

Y'see, while I was on tonight I got an idea and built a character to a certain theme, thinking that surely someone would have thought of it before...
But the name 'Servant Rider' was untaken, at least on Infinity.
Edit: Never mind, apparently there just hadn't been a big enough fan of Her Leather Majesty yet. Sigh.

  A Note on Lincoln
Posted by: Evil Midnight Lurker - 09-08-2006, 05:29 AM - Forum: The Legendary - Replies (1)

I had a minor revelation about Abe during the meet.
He's on leave from Heaven, walking around in a technically-naked marble statue... he did everything he could to keep the Union united, winning a war in which his side did not fire the first shot...
Abraham Lincoln, Saint of Stone. [Image: smile.gif]
(Which means that he'll never actually land the first blow in combat... just get in people's faces and wait for them to hit him or a teammate.)
It makes so much sense on so many levels...

Fair warning. Prepare to suppress lots of laughter if you're at work. ^_^
