In 30 days time, I'll be slipping into my 30's. (I'll be 31 on October 3rd). I invite you all to come and celebrate with me on Sunday October 1st on Virtue Server, in Pocket D, the Supergroup Base, on a badge hunt or just on missions in general. And the evening of October 2nd on infinity Server , same deal.
No presents but your presence.
(Bob, I'd love it if Peggy could join us. And whoever else has spouses or SO's -significant others, not single origins sheesh! ;-) bring them along too.)

Need a codec... |

In order to play this video, I need to install either a new piece of software or a new codec. Media Player Classic knows how to use external-to-it codecs, and thus should be able to play anything, so why should I clutter my system with software for one video? I don't want to install a codec pack - I've had bad experiences with them in the past.
So... anyone know where to find the codecs necessary to play an "MP4 file, using H.264 and AAC video and audio compression", and just those codecs?

Surprise surprise.
I'm coming back to CoH.
On a whim I ressurected my very first CoH character, with some new things I've learned along the way. If you see an MA/Regen Scrapper Sisial in game on Virtue, that's me.
On the Villain side, also on Virtue, I'm bumming around with an Elec/Elec Brute named Requiem Rosered.

Three "AIC Heroines" anime figures for sale |

As mentioned over on General/General, I recently got a box of 10 "AIC Heroines" figures. I'm selling off three duplicates: Pretty Sammy from Magical Girl Pretty Sammy (I've already promised first refusal on this one to Morganni), Iczer-1 from Iczer-1, and Akari from Battle Athletes. These are the standard figures, not the "re-paint" ones with translucent hair. The figures are approximately 11cm (4.5") tall, and not in scale to each other.
I'm asking $US10 each, plus the cost of whatever shipping method you specify - this is close to my cost for each figure (including customs). I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. If you don't want the box, I can put the figure in a bubble-mailer and mail it as an envelope; if you do want the box, it'll have to go as a small parcel, which costs more. I've kept three boxes in good enough shape to re-glue closed.
As already mentioned, I've promised first refusal on the Pretty Sammy figure to Morganni. If I don't hear from him by Tuesday morning, I'll assume he doesn't want it. For either or both of the other two, first offer to buy for each figure received at robkelk -atsign- gmail -period- com takes it or them.

About halfway through a mission, this goit starts sending me tells.
[Team]pooler: somtimes i feel i've got to
[Team] Jackie Marie Frost: Pooler, please feel yourself on your own time.
pooler: you would enjoy that
[Team]pooler: you have a panty line jackie
Jackie:: Not particularly, no. Narcissists do not make sensitive lovers.
pooler: yeah but i do
Jackie:: That is not what the graffiti in the ladies washroom says.
pooler: i wrote it not to seem cocky
Jackie:: That smacks of desperation.
pooler: i hate when guys play as women
Jackie:: No, you hate it when people are wittier than you are. It must happen quite a bit.
pooler: what
Jackie:: Should I have used smaller words?
pooler: nothing you need be made privy to
Jackie:: You have the sophistication of a manhole.
Jackie:: If you are going to try and match wits, at least put in an effort.
pooler: i heard thats not the case with you
Jackie:: That is your retort? For shame.
pooler: its a improvisation
Jackie:: No, Improvisation contains wit.
pooler: being a chick requires a v
Jackie:: You shall have to do better than that.
[pooler: i bet your a guy trying to pick up desperate guys here
pooler: weren't you on to catch a predator
Jackie:: Ask my wife, she's on this team.
pooler: she said yep and your package is small
pooler: she said she needs a real hero
pooler: one with a ponytail
Jackie:: Sorry, she is educated and only goes for guys with great big vocabularies and the ability to use the shift key.
pooler middle fingure
pooler: you can think that
pooler: i bet she is so bored
Jackie:: I can think period, which places me well above you.
pooler: this is almost entertaining
Jackie:: No, it is tiresome, a battle of wits with unarmed person bores me.

Incredible Roleplayer... |

Oh, and before I forget, last night I was paged by a guy who invited Looney Toons to a team in a way that was so perfectly roleplayed that I felt guilty about turning him down. (So guilty, in fact, that the next time I play Looney, I'm planning on looking for him to offer help.) I mentioned him on the group channel, and it turned out that Wide Receiver had teamed with him before, and .Silhouette was in a team with him at that very moment. When we explained the level of RP he was doing, the suggestion was made to invite him to the group, and a request to see the query was made.
Well, the last I heard he was in discussions with at least .Sil over group membership, and I forgot to relay his messages to me. I'm correcting the latter now, thanks to a chat log: Quote: [Tell]Renn Highsight: ::An awkward teen's voice comes over your Comm:: Um, Mr Looney Toons? There's some bad men that my sister says need to be arrested. Can you give us a hand?
...(after I turned him down)...
[Tell]Renn Highsight: Oh... um... ok... See I told you he wouldn't want to. Kharos told me! ::Renn seems to be talking to someone apparantly in the background::
Now do you see why I felt guilty? Even knowing it was RP?

Okay, Seriously Weird Idea |

I suppose it's the combination of still being sick, sorta, and being very short on sleep (Peggy worked until midnight last night, and needed me to pick her up from her job -- a round trip of over an hour...), but I had a thoroughly weird idea for a themed supergroup that I wanted to throw out to folks.
A Dada/Surrealist supergroup.
Call it something like "The Pink Wombat Stretchers", make characters with names like "The Eructent Structure" who wear costumes which are the result of the "random" button. And roleplay it completely in the public channels -- which means all public dialogue would be completely incomprehensible gibberish or non sequiturs.
It might make for the occasional entertaining break from the serious Legendary stuff.
So, sound fun, or am I just spacing from illness and lack of sleep?
