I just bought a new computer with a 1TB SSD drive. Since I honestly don't think I'm likely to run out of space on a 500 GB partition anytime soon, I was considering setting this thing up to dual boot. It's been ages since I've done much with any kind of *nix system so I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations for what Linux distro I should install or if anyone thinks I'd be better off with something like freebsd?

Canadian Conservative party rejects adding 'climate change is real' to the policy book

The Portneuf—Jacques—Cartier riding in Quebec, which proposed the policy change, also asked delegates to recognize that "Canadian businesses classified as highly polluting need to take more responsibility" and "reduce their GHG emissions."

The policy proposal also included a call to support "innovation in green technologies" so that Canada can become "a world-class leader" in an emerging industry.

Delegates issued a rebuke to climate-minded Conservatives and rejected the policy shift by a margin of 54 per cent to 46. In fact, it was one of only four policy proposals or modifications on a list of 50 pitched by electoral riding associations (EDAs) that were rejected by the delegates.

Anime News Network tells us that "The Cure Maid Café is holding a collaboration café with the Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time film from March 19 to April 11." They're offering a half-dozen Evangelion-themed drinks during the event.

Five of the drinks are mixed drinks based on the colour schemes of the plugsuits worn by the pilots.

The other drink... well, it's Misato's themed drink. Do I really need to say what it is?

So, I was talking with Black Aeronaut and Labster the other day, and it turns out one had never heard of Dance of Shiva, and the other had never heard of Uretsa Yatsura: The Senior Year.

So, My question to the rest of the old fogies like myself is:

What older Fanfic would YOU recommend to todays readers as something that defines the genre?  For the record, Undocumented Features and Drunkard's Walk do NOT qualify for this!

Maybe a theme for a villain who gets redeemed? I don't know, but it's good.

I would say And So It Went would also fit with end-S1 Sailor Moon, but with Doug's influence the senshi aren't falling so much into "How can mere children be causing so much trouble!?" territory. Still, "The world does not belong to you/you are not the queen, I am not the fool/the world does not belong to you... it belongs to me" does have some resonance with princess/future queen serious-mode Usagi.
