Apparently, bail will be set at arraignment... which is not expected before September 5.

As to what this means for his reelection campaign, I'll quote myself:

Quote:In fact, someone physically incarcerated could run for president, and someone already has: socialist Eugene Debs won nearly a million votes in 1920 while locked up on sedition charges for opposing the First World War.

Be sure to remind everyone that "running for President while in jail" is something that a socialist did. Smile

Apparently he didn't post bail himself. He paid a bail bondsman to do it for him. Given Trump's tenancy of not paying for shit that's either a very brave bail bondsman, or someone who has a Rally Vincent.on speed dial

I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.

One day they're going to ban them.

Donny boy is many things, but one of the things he is known to be is a very capable con man. I can believe him conning somebody who absolutely should know better into posting bail for him.

Scott Hall pleads guilty to five criminal counts and must testify against co-defendants

Somebody remind me, please - was Scott Hall offered a pardon in 2019? Looking him up on Wikipedia just gives me their page about this set of trials.

Apparently, "release the kraken" means "plead guilty to a plea bargain".

Sidney Powell, who made false election claims for Trump, pleads guilty ahead of trial

Only the truly innocent take plea bargains to avoid the risk of severe sentences.

Nah, only the lawyers take plea bargains because they realize how screwed they are. Except Giuliani, of course. He’s counting on the pardon that Trump isn’t going to give him when he doesn’t become President again, when he isn’t even eligible for public office on account of trying to overthrow the government.

Trump's lawyers argue in favor of President Biden's right to have Trump assassinated without legal consequence.

AP: Trump is not immune from prosecution in his 2020 election interference case, US appeals court says

Quote:“For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant,” the court wrote. “But any executive immunity that may have protected him while he served as President no longer protects him against this prosecution.”
